Fraudulent notes going around Droitwich |
||
Good morning everyone,
Just to make you aware in the Droitwich Town area, there has been fraudulent Scottish £20 notes going around. I have informed most of the local businesses in the Droitwich Town area, they have also seen the notes in person so they are aware of what they look, feel like and also what they sound like as well.
They are quite flimsy and do not sound like real notes, there is a spider hologram in them that doesn't move when the note is moved. The ink is printed on what appears to be clear plastic and can be easily scraped off as well. The notes do come up as genuine under a note scanner so please be aware. They do have different serial numbers to make it confusing.
Please be aware that they are legal tender. This message is for members of the public and any businesses owners as well.
What to do
Carefully check the notes using a UV Light or counterfeit detection pen.
Pay attention to the texture, watermark and hologram.
If you suspect the note to be fake, please do not accept it and report it to us on 101.
Let's work together to prevent further incidents.
Please share this with fellow business owners, front line staff and also members of the public.
Many thanks
